Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 October 2026

The short version. You can use Alpha State without an account, and then everything stays on your device. If you create an account, we store your email and your breathing sessions so you can see your progress on any device. We don't sell your data, show ads, use analytics or track you. You can download or delete everything at any time from Settings.

1. Who is responsible

The Alpha State app ("Alpha State", "we", "us") is run by Ricardo Guerreiro, Portugal, the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What we collect and why

Your sessions, settings and the date you accepted our Terms are saved only in your browser's storage on your device. They are never sent to us. Deleting the app or clearing your browser data removes them.

3. Who processes your data for us

We use a small number of providers who process data only on our instructions, under data processing agreements:

Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where data leaves the EU, it is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

We never sell or rent your data, and we never share it with advertisers. We only disclose it if the law requires us to.

6. Security

Everything is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). There are no passwords to leak: you sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Database rules make sure each account can only ever read and change its own data.

7. Age

Alpha State is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a minor has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

8. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and ask you to review it in the app before you continue.
